In order to express gratitude to the Central Police University for nurturing maritime law enforcement officers for many years, Director Teh-cheng (德成 ) Liao of the Fleet Sub directorate of the Coast Guard Administration, Ocean Affairs Council, and former Deputy Director of the Coast Guard Administration, Ocean Affairs Council Chang-hsiung Cheng ( 鄭障雄 ) facilitated the donation of a model of the Hsinchu Ship to enrich the collection of the World Police Museum of the university on January 2, 2024, which was received by the President of the university in person, in a grand ceremony and a happy process.
In recent years, in order to enhance the capacity of law enforcement, fishery protection and disaster relief in maritime areas, the Coast Guard Administration, Ocean Affairs Council has been actively expanding the size of its fleet.After launching in March 2022, the ship has been commissioned in the Northern Tactical Unit of the fleet, and has been responsible for cruising and disaster relief duties.The ship is equipped with professional medical facilities at the level of a field hospital, and can be used as a medical ambulance to carry out missions. The ship is also equipped with a helicopter parking deck, which is sufficient for the Air Force Black Hawk helicopters or Navy anti-submarine helicopters to land and operate, and serves a number of complex functions such as maritime security maintenance, law enforcement and rescue.For years , Central Police University has been entrusted by the Coast Guard to set up “ the Department of Marine Police", which is the cradle for the cultivation of officers to enforce the maritime law .The donation ceremony of the model of the Hsinchu Ship not only has far-reaching significance, but also symbolizes the solid cooperation between the University and the Coast Guard.
The University has placed the precious model in the "Marine Police Area" of the World Police Museum, which not only highlights the achievements of the Coast Guard Administration, Ocean Affairs Council in recent years, but also enriches the collection for the benefit of visitors to the University.
